Shirley, the hootster will enjoy this trailer. Seems as if the author, Harper Lee, never wrote another novel. Hmmmm. Seems, too, there was speculation the book was co-authored. What's the scoop, Hoots? Did she or didn't she?

No way to know, I guess. If she had a ghost writer or co-writer who whould that be?
I know that as she was putting together her single opus, Truman Capote was putting together In Cold Blood. If I recall what I read correctly, his (real life) characters were still awaiting trial when she was winding up her work on Mockingbird. The two of them were well aquainted, being from the same part of Alabama, may have worked together, and rose to literary acclaim at about the same time.
Thanks for the mention.

Watching AMC, I learned that the production was shot on a studio backlot by Henry Bumstead who won an Oscar for Art Direction

Alan Smithee was not called upon to direct this legendary film due to its greatness.
