The Bird Is The Word
One year wonder. Threw his arm out after a spectacular rookie season. Became a media darling and an instant celebrity. Kitty was intrigued by the man who talked to the baseballs. v.c. P.S.
In '76, Bird was the word:
"He's like the little boy that's thrown into a pile of horse manure and he's bobbin' up and down and they say how can you be so happy and he says there has to be a pony in here somewhere.
