Pete Best is the answer. On the far left of the picture. Next is George Harrison, John Lennon, Paul McCartney and Stu Sutcliffe. Stu was a friend of John's from art school, who couldn't play a lick of music. He was in the band but shielded himself from the audience. Pete was terminated from the Fab 4 when they had just signed a contract with Capital Records. And Richard Starkey, aka Ringo Starr, took his place. Fate, eh?
P.S. Stu died tragically before the Fab 4 "made it big." A heart attack or some other malady.
